Registering an account on Illicitjournal is very similar to other sites. You sign up, validate your email address and then you can start publishing.
This guide will walk you through what to expect. Before you start you’ll need a working email address. If you don’t have a personal email address then Google offers a free gmail account.
First you need to fill in a basic form on the register page. Provide a login name, email and read and agree to the terms and conditions.
You’ll be returned to the Illicitjournal homepage with a message to check your email.
Now it's time to go to your email account and log in as normal. You should see an email from Illicitjournal in your inbox. If you don't see anything immediately don’t despair, it could take up to an hour for the message to arrive. You might also need to check in a “Spam” folder if your mail service has that function.
The email contains a link that you’ll either need to click on with the mouse, or copy & paste to your browser’s navigation bar (using either the Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V keys on Windows or Command+C and Command+V keys on a Mac. If you are using a mobile phone you can tap and hold your thumb on the link, it should highlight and let you copy and paste using the mini-menu).
Once you have used the link, you will be directed to Illicitjournal where you choose a password.
After you enter a password you’ll be directed to your Author Profile and you can get started setting up your profile or write your first story.
If you ever forget your password, you can request a reset using the forgot password feature.
Illicitjournal doesn’t currently offer dedicated tech support, but if you need assistance you can try the Contact form or the Illicitjournal Twitter channel.
